Interpool reported net income of $12.5 million on revenue of $90.7 million for fourth quarter 2000, compared to net income of $7.6 million on revenue of $60.2 million a year earlier.
For the full year, net income was $43 million on revenue of $287 million, compared to $28.7 million on $217.8 million for 1999.
Fourth quarter results included contributions from the North American Intermodal Div. of Transamerica Leasing, acquired in October. The company recently received government clearance to proceed with the sale of its intermodal trailers and domestic rail containers to TIP Intermodal Services. The sale is expected to close by second quarter 2001.
Interpool is the country’s largest lessor of intermodal container chassis and one of the world’s largest lessors of cargo containers.
