Flying J Travel Plazas has opened a $7.5 million state-of-the-art facility at Spiceland, Ind.,
some 35 miles east of Indianapolis on I-70.
In addition to a full service restaurant, two fast food offerings and a large C-store, the newest Flying J boasts the chain’s third Country Market Gift Shop, a boutique that offers items ranging from $250 designer jackets to $1.49 candles. Other gift items include Coca-Cola and John Deere memorabilia, Boyd's bears and items with apples, moose, lighthouses and patriotic symbols, plus a large selection of patchwork quilts.
Special facilities for the professional truck driver include a lounge with a big-screen television, video games, shower and laundry facilities. Travelers can plug in laptop computers or use two stand-alone terminals that provide Internet access.
