Delphi Automotive Systems announced that the first application of its Duraswitch switch technology will be in the development of future over-the-road truck seats.
Delphi recently entered into an agreement with truck and bus seat manufacturer National Seating to develop switch applications for future products.
Delphi acquired an 18 percent equity stake in Duraswitch in June 2000, and has since begun incorporating its patented magnetically coupled switch technologies into future vehicle program designs.
Duraswitch's technology addresses a number of issues pertinent to consumers and OEMs alike, including flat-panel, slim-profile designs; high durability and reliability; sealability against harsh environments; illumination capabilities, and ergonomic, user-friendly interfaces.
