Canadian Truck Lender Has Eye on U.S.

A Canadian startup based in Calgary, Alberta, has begun financing truck and trailer purchases over the Internet at www.bigrigdirect.com.

BigRigDirect.com specializes in less-than-fleet and owner-operator buyers. The interface is easy to use. You fill out an application on screen and, according to the site, get an answer the next day.
For now, however, the service is limited to Canadian customers, said a BigRigDirect spokesman. The company has an eye on the huge U.S. market, but to meet regulatory requirements, it must flourish in Canada first. However, interest has been high and has included more than a few queries from U.S. truckers, he said.
