ASCAR Business Systems of Glendale, Calif., makers of trucking and courier operations software, has announced adoption of a new browser-based programming language for its products.
The language, called dl4, was developed by Dynamic Concepts Inc. of Aliso Viejo, Calif., to function in a web browser-like environment and work with Windows, Unix and Linux operating systems.
According to ASCAR, its dl4-based software works efficiently with anywhere from 10 to 25,000 deliveries a day. This allows a small courier company to begin with a Windows PC and later move up to a Unix environment with no data re-entry required.
The new language offers connectivity to wireless systems popular with trucking and courier companies.
