FedEx subsidiary Viking Freight, San Jose, Calif., has launched a web site called iShipViking.com,
where customers can arrange for delivery notification by e-mail and generate bills of lading, among other things.
The bill-of-lading generator is integrated with address books of shipping and receiving locations that customers can create. The combination is easy to use and helps prevent errors, according to Viking.
The new site also allows customers to review account activity, obtain customized rate quotes, trace shipments and more.
Viking provides next-day LTL service through 66 terminals in 11 Western states, including Alaska and Hawaii.
