Weight restrictions are in effect for the Applegate River Bridge on U.S. Hwy. 199 near Grants Pass, Ore.

Bridge engineers from the Oregon Department of Transportation's Highway Division say that repairs are needed to the structure. The bridge will undergo emergency repairs to fix large, working shear cracks in its longitudinal girders. ODOT estimates the repairs will be completed by July.
Single-axle weights up to 20,000 pounds, tandem axle weights up to 34,000 pounds, and trucks with gross vehicle weights up to 80,000 pounds will be allowed on the bridge.
Loads exceeding these limits will be required to use posted detours.
All loads in excess of 12 feet in width will require the use of front and rear pilot vehicles on the detour routes. Loads requiring special permits will likely have additional restrictions.
