National Assn. of Show Trucks President Bob Drummond has resigned
and been replaced by Vice President Dave Sweetman, who also writes for Newport Communications.
The resignation, which was against the wishes of the board members, took place at NAST's board meeting in Columbus, Ind., Jan. 15. It followed some controversy over a gift to his wife, Nancy, following the NAST competition at the Bordentown, N.J., Petro, last fall. Although there was no violation of NAST by-laws, Drummond felt the incident could look like a conflict of interest and detract from the direction the organization is going.
Neal Holsomback was installed as vice president. Both Sweetman and Holsomback will hold their posts until the election in March, when the membership decides who will fill the slots.
The board also nominated and installed Dan Feeley as Treasurer, freeing Executive Director Bob Guy to handle the organization's day-to-day affairs. Feeley has an extensive background in management and bookkeeping skills.
Kim Grimm, a very active NAST member, was nominated and unanimously voted to a board position.
