Atlanta-based CarrierPoint, an Internet logistics company, has introduced DockMaster, a web-based dock-scheduling tool.
DockMaster is integrated with CarrierPoint online transportation markets; it is also available as a stand-alone product.
As Truckingfo.com first reported last October, DockMaster is the first web-based agent that allows shippers and consignees to schedule pickups and deliveries by their selected carriers automatically or interactively. The system can also be used to pre-assign specific loading doors.
Among other benefits, DockMaster collects dock activity data to establish performance benchmarks and measure carrier on-time performance. In multi-location facilities, DockMaster reports can measure performance from location to location to identify process improvement opportunities and analyze asset utilization.
According to CarrierPoint, DockMaster is available for purchase or for rent over the Internet in an ASP (Application Service Provider) model.
