Boston-based software provider Archibus has introduced a product it calls Fleet Management, which helps fleets of all sizes track and manage mobile equipment,
from vans and passenger cars to cranes and motorized sleds.
Fleet Management allows users to dispatch vehicles, reserve vehicles for future use, create repair orders, track parts and fuel, manage preventive maintenance, and even manage parking lots.
According to Archibus, Fleet Management was initially developed for the U.S. Navy Europe to replace a non-Y2K compliant system for tracking vehicles at six bases across the continent. Now, the product is available commercially.
