Nextel Communications, Reston, Va., has introduced software application for wireless customers in transportation, delivery and warehousing.
Nextel is the wireless telephone network that also provides two-way radio contact between and among specific user groups, such as fleets or mobile workers.
Among the applications, which require Nextel "plus" phones, is Actsoft’s Comet Courier System, a Windows-based software for package delivery, messenger, courier and freight companies. The program manages delivery orders received by phone or Internet browser.
