Canacar, Mexico’s national trucking association, will likely soon take action against foreign-owned trucking companies in Mexico, including U.S.- based M.S. Carriers and Transportes EASO, according to published reports.

Spokesperson Antonio Vazquez says Canacar is planning to move forward to defend the nation’s trucking industry if the Trade and Industry Ministry and the Ministry of Communications and Transport fail to present a viable solution to a dispute over such companies' rights to offer freight services inside Mexico.
The association recently argued that foreign-owned companies are prohibited by the North American Free Trade Agreement from providing road freight services inside Mexico.
