TMW Systems, a software developer for the trucking industry, has purchased the assets of QUALCOMM’s TL2000 software business. The operation, formerly known as McCormick & Associates, is based in Indianapolis, IN.
The acquisition is part of TMW’s plan to provide a wider range of products and services to the truckload industry, spokesmen say. The TL2000 dispatch software product has approximately 100 customers. Combined with TMW’s existing clients, this acquisition gives TMW almost 400 clients and a selection of products that crosses all major computer platforms.
TL2000 is an AS/400-based system. The new platform will complement TMW’s PC-oriented dispatch, operations and administration products. The Trucking System runs on a PC-LAN and is targeted at mid-sized carriers. TMW Power Suite is large-fleet-oriented and operates on a PC server running Windows NT or UNIX operating systems.
