Pilot Corp. has purchased the Tifton Travel Center in Tifton, Ga., and is reopening it today as a Pilot travel center.
Located at Interstate 75 and Highway 82, this new Pilot is located on one of the nation's busiest north-south corridors, according to Mark Hazelwood, Pilot's executive vice president.
The travel center features 200 parking spaces, CAT scales, 11 showers, a barber
shop, a television room, laundry facilities, AT&T telephones and an ATM. The facility also includes a Steak 'N Shake restaurant.
The Tifton location is the eighth Georgia travel center for the Knoxville, Tenn.-based company, which also operates locations in Atlanta, Augusta, Brunswick, Dalton, Tallapoosa and Warner Robins.
