Load-matching giant DAT Services (www.dat.com) has taken another major step onto the Internet with the launch of a Web-based version of DAT Partners.

DAT, Portland, Ore., introduced DAT Partners in 1999 to provide electronic access to the DAT database over a virtual private network, a limited, protected use of the Internet. Now DAT Partners customers can access the largest load and truck database in North America using normal Internet connections.
According to DAT, features include a business directory, online credit reports and DAT Lanemakers, historical lane activity and information for the past 12 months. DAT Partners on the Internet also can notify users of load matches in real time.
DAT Partners Internet version is currently available for single-user locations, with a multi-user version to be released soon. DAT Services also offers a browser-based freight-matching service, DATinternet, to owner-operators.
