Cathedral City, CA, will soon be the site of a state-of-the-art truckstop/travel center which will feature unique amenities to pamper and care for truckers.

To be located at I-10 and Date Palm Drive, the Cathedral City Travel Center will feature the usual facilities along with a business center with computers and Internet access, offices for doctor, dental and chiropractic visits, and a lush courtyard with a pool shaped like a tractor-trailer with jacuzzis as the wheels.
Phase 1 of the $36 million project also includes a lunch garden, fuel depot, lube bay, truck wash, scales, showers, entertainment area for concerts, game and lounge room, fitness room, full-service restaurant and retail stores, while Phase 2 will include a quality, low-cost motel.
More than 7,000 vehicles each day are expected to stop at the new facility, which is being designed to accommodate up to 1,000 trucks at once. The first phase is expected to open in May 1998.
