Southeastern Freight Lines, Columbia, S.C., has introduced two new billing alternatives, Internet invoicing and fax invoicing, which benefit smaller customers much like Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) invoicing but without the investment in EDI technology.

Internet invoicing provides shipper invoices directly to a designated Internet e-mail address the morning after pick up. Fax provides invoices by fax instead of e-mail. Both services help accelerate collection cycles.
"Demand for these process-improving enhancements is even greater than we anticipated," said Braxton Vick, Southeastern's Senior VP of Corporate Planning and Development.
Southeastern Freight Lines is a privately-held LTL carrier in the Southeast and Southwest with 6,000 employees and projected revenues this year of $459 million.
