Vice President Al Gore accepted the endorsement of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters at the Teamsters Unity Conference Monday in Las Vegas.

The Teamsters' hesitancy to endorse Gore because of his pro-NAFTA stance seemed forgotten as union members waved yellow “Teamsters for Gore” signs and chanted “Gore! Gore! Gore!”
The union decided to endorse Gore earlier this month after a straw poll in the Teamster magazine sent to 1.7 million members, electronic messaging to local union leaders, as well as a scientific poll.
“I am so proud to have your endorsement," Gore said. “It is a feeling that is all the sweeter because of the process that you have gone through.”
"Al Gore is a long-time friend of working families," said Teamsters President James P. Hoffa. "Over the past year, the Teamsters have met with every major candidate for President. After listening attentively to our members at all levels of the union, Al Gore was the clear choice to fight for working families."
