Goodyear Joins Forces With Treadco

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Akron, Ohio, announced a joint venture agreement with Treadco Inc. to combine their commercial tire service centers to form a new company, Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems.

Goodyear will have 60 percent ownership interest in the new venture, with Treadco (a division of Arkansas Best Corp.) holding 40 percent.
The agreement combines the Treadco operations, Goodyear's commercial tire service centers and the Goodyear-owned Brad Ragan Inc. commercial tire centers. Collectively, the joint venture operations will number 194 commercial tire and service centers, and 77 retreading plants.
