A convoy of about 50 trucks drove to the home of West Australian Premier Richard Court today in an exclusive Perth suburb as part of their continuing protest against high fuel prices and low rates.
Court was not home, according to published reports, so the truckers put a letter in his mailbox, then delivered the same letter to his office.
On Tuesday, about 100 truck drivers blockaded Fremantle Port, disrupting deliveries. Court, however, reportedly said the action achieved nothing except stopping the flow of exports.
Transport Workers Union organizer Paul Aslan said the campaign would continue for several weeks and may spread to other states.
