Logistics.com, the Internet-based transportation management site, has added a critical module to its Digital Transportation Marketplace, which brings together shippers and carriers enabling transportation procurement at various levels.

For example, Digital Transportation Markeplace enables carriers and shippers to meet and arrange for long-term contractural relationships.
The latest Digital Transportation Marketplace module is called QuoteShip Exchange and is now fully integrated into the DTM. It automates the traditional spot quote process between shippers and transportation providers, reducing rate negotiation time. QuoteShip is currently available for air and ocean freight transportation and will add ground transportation next month.
According to Logistics.com, more than 1,400 Boston-area shippers and 200 transportation providers are currently signed-on to the QuoteShip Exchange. The national rollout will focus on the West Coast first, with the rest of the United States following soon after.
Logistics.com is also a provider of sophisticated logistics software formerly marketed by Sabre Logisitics.
