American Freightways, an LTL carrier out of Harrison, Ark., will institute a general rate increase of 5.5% effective September 1.
Some additional adjustments in certain long haul markets, imbalanced lanes and high cost service areas will be made. Minimum charge floors will increase by $2.50.
The increase applies to the Company's interstate and intrastate common carrier freight rates published in its 5000 series tariff. Company officials said the increase should favorably impact total company revenue by approximately 3%.
