Lafayette, Ind.-based trailer manufacturer Wabash National Corp. has announced its second quarter results, reporting losses in both net sales and income.
Net sales for the quarter were $358.7 million, compared to $380.2 million for the same period last year. Net income for the quarter was $7.5 million, or $.31 per share, down from $10.3 million, or $.42 per share, for the same period last year. Net sales for the first half of the year were $711.6 million, while net income hit $16.6 million, or $.68 per share. These numbers compared to net sales of $721.8 million and net income of $16.7 million last year.
Company officials blamed the decline in revenue on the rate of trailer shipments and the impact it’s had on company production rate.
