Intrenet Inc., the holding company that operates a number of truckload carriers, has launched phase one of its Common Freight Board, which will eventually link all the Intrenet fleets so each company can see all of the loads available to it and sister companies.
According to Intrenet, the system will yield fewer deadhead miles for all fleets.
In phase one, the Common Freight Board links Intrenet subsidiaries Advanced Distribution Systems and Eck Miller Transportation, both of which run mainly flatbed operations. Intrenet said phases two and three will eventually link its Roadrunner Trucking fleet and virtually all agents and owner-operators.
