Slow truck sales and an overabundance of used tractors has forced Volvo Trucks to lay off 70 employees.

According to the Associated Press, company spokesman Phil Romba said employees were notified Monday they would be out of work effective Friday. Another 30 Volvo Trucks employees at the company's Dublin, Va., plant and regional sales offices also are losing their jobs, the company said. Volvo Trucks laid off 900 workers at the Dublin plant in March, reports the AP.
Volvo will give the laid-off workers three to six months of severance pay, as well as assistance in finding a new job.
