O.K. to Put Hazmat Placards Low On Trailer
June 13, 2000
The U.S. Department of Transportation's Research and Special Programs Div. has reversed its ban on placards mounted low on the rear of a trailer.
According to the American Trucking Associations, which met with RSPA officials regarding this matter, hazmat placards may be placed at a level below the trailer floor and behind the rear underride guard as long as they're not obscured.
