Great Dane Trailers, Savannah, Ga., plans to build a 300,000-square-foot production operation in Quinte West, located in eastern Ontario, Canada.
Construction of the new facility, which will employ around 500 people, is planned to begin this summer.
The plant's two assembly lines will have an annual capacity of about 6,000 trailers to meet demand in central and eastern Canada and the U.S. Northeast. Almost all production will consist of 48- to 53-foot refrigerated and dry freight container trailers.
