Oshkosh Truck Corp. reported a net income of $13.9 million for its second fiscal quarter, an increase of 113% over $6.5 million for second quarter 1999. Second quarter sales were $331 million, up from $299 million a year ago.

Sales were up 7.7%, to $181.9 million in the commercial segment due to strong performance in the concrete placement market. Sales of fire and emergency equipment were up 19.8% to $102.8 million. Sales in the defense segment rose 3.2% to $45.8 million.
For its first fiscal six months, Oshkosh reported a net income of $20 million on sales of $574 million compared to $10.5 million on sales of $521 million in the first half of 1999.
