LeanLogistics.com, Holland, MI, has launched a new Internet freight exchange designed to provide shippers and carriers with a neutral, real-time environment for bidding on and buying freight services. Through the site, manufacturers will reportedly be able to tender loads for bid while carriers can search the market for the load that best matches their capacity.
The site offers paperless transactions, electronic payment, and a one-time transaction cost said to be lower than traditional freight broker fees. The company is now signing new members to the exchange and membership is free.
