Core Materials Corp. says it has reached a tentative deal with Mack Trucks to manufacture and assemble fiberglass reinforced molded products for current and future Mack Class 8 models.

The $5 million contract is expected to be finalized in 60 to 90 days.
Core Materials management said a major factor in Mack's decision was the strategic geographic location of its two manufacturing plants, one in Columbus, OH, the other in Gaffney, SC. The successful launch of a sunshade on two of Mack's heavy duty models was another key consideration.
Columbus, OH-based Core Materials also supplies products to International Truck and Engine Corp. and Volvo Trucks North America.
