Freightliner Halts Import of Mexican-Made FLDs

Freightliner will temporarily stop importing Mexican-built Class 8 FLD models for sale in the U.S., but DaimlerChrysler's Mercedes-Benz plant in Santiago Tianguistenco will continue to build some Freightliner Business Class medium duty trucks for sale here, according to a Freightliner spokesman.
The plant, which also builds Freightliner and Mercedes-Benz trucks for Mexico and South America, will cut production from 45 to 25 trucks a day this month.
