Eaton Corporation's Trucking Information Services, Clemmons, NC, has released FleetAdvisor 3.1, which includes several new features such as enhanced automatic log keeping, on-board computer usability and expanded reporting.

The system's computerized log keeping now automatically records vehicle location whenever a driver's duty status changes. Utilizing an on-board database of 5,000 cities, the computer automatically records a location description that includes the distance and direction from the nearest city. The software permits a driver to modify or replace the default location description to add explanatory text to the record.
Other system enhancements include support for barcode scanning and a multi-language on-board computer (OBC) display. The Eaton M100 OBC can now automatically log miles traveled in Canadian provinces. This feature extends the system's current ability to automatically log miles traveled in any state within the U.S. The state mileage and fuel economy data collected is fully compliant with IFTA guidelines and may be used to complete IFTA forms.
Fleet Advisor's standard report suite now includes IFTA audit and French-language US DOT reports. As with all Fleet Advisor reports, these new reports are available through LAN or WAN clients, which provides efficient data access to IT or management personnel.
