U.S. Operations Lead DaimlerChrysler Sales Growth

Freightliner, Sterling and Thomas Built Buses led 1999 revenue and sales increases for DaimlerChrysler's commercial vehicle division.

Annual sales for the division totaled $26 billion, up 15% from 1998. Worldwide, the company sold 555,000 vehicles. The U.S. recorded the highest increase: 194,000 trucks and buses, up 52% from 1998.
The Associated Press reports that the company expects similar sales and revenue in 2000.
