The art of digital freight rating advanced with announcements from SCM Systems, Peachtree City, GA, and Commercial Traffic Company, Cleveland, OH, known as CTI.

SCM (formerly known as Southern Motor Carrier introduced ProRater2000, LTL rating software for splitting revenue on joint line shipments, for example when one carrier transfers a shipment to another for deliver. SCM promises ProRater2000 "produces very accurate and competitive revenue sharing percentages." The Windows-based software is available on CD or diskettes.
CTI, meanwhile, has released an updated version (4.5.1) of its Freitrater software. According to the company, its new version boasts greater processing speed, added custom fields and data import/export capability with Microsoft's popular data base, Access, and spreadsheet, Excel. The latest version of Freitrater runs on either UNIX or Windows NT.
