Flatbed truckload giant Intrenet, Milford, OH, is implementing a company-wide mobile satellite communications and freight tracking system.

The announcement comes after a successful regional pilot program conducted in the fourth quarter of 1999.
Intrenet has entered into a contract with Qualcomm to outfit the entire Intrenet fleet, including Roadrunner Trucking, Eck Miller Transportation, Advanced Distribution System, and Roadrunner Distribution Services, with its OmniTRACS system.
"Qualcomm's customized solution will help Intrenet accomplish a number of important corporate and operational objectives," said Intrenet President and CEO Eric C. Jackson, "including wide geographic coverage, improved driver safety, increased fleet productivity and reduced fuel consumption."
