Roadway Express, Akron, OH, has reorganized its Information Technology systems to address the increasing importance of e-commerce and to add value to its existing freight and information networks.
The company wants to give customers more complete, real-time access to its supply chains. Roadway’s e-commerce strategy is to combine the use, flexibility and speed of the Internet
with the company’s information systems and less-than-truckload network to take advantage of new market opportunities and better serve its customers’ changing needs.
Robert Obee has been appointed vice president and chief information officer to lead the restructured senior IT management team.
