Hertz Backs Out Of AMI Leasing Deal

Car rental giant Hertz has ended talks to acquire AMI Leasing, a Worcester, MA, truck leasing business owned by Ford.

Craig Koch, president and ceo of Hertz, said AMI's emphasis on heavy truck leasing does not fit with Hertz's growth strategy.
In mid-July, the company had said it was considering acquiring AMI Leasing, estimating then that a transaction could occur within 60 days.
