Truckstop Medical Chain To Expand
November 15, 1999
Coast To Coast Medical, a fledgling chain of truckstop medical clinics, will likely be expanding to three more locations next year.
The company already operates clinics at the Petro Stopping Centers in Kingdom City, MO, and West Memphis, AR. Negotiations are in the final stages for three more locations to be opened in 2000: the Sapp Bros. location in Cheyenne, WY, The Giant truckstop outside Gallup, NM, and the Petro Stopping Center in Atlanta, according to CEO David Keseg, MD.
Additional sites are being considered in Bakersfield and Ontario, CA; Oklahoma City; Bordentown, NJ; and Scranton, PA. The company hopes to have 25 to 50 clinics in place all over the country within the next three to five years.
The clinics are the brainchild of a group of Ohio emergency room physicians, who in conversations with truck driver patients realized how difficult it is for drivers to get medical care on the road. The facilities offer free blood pressure checks, do DOT physicals, and offer treatment for common ailments such as colds and flu, rashes, and sprains and strains.
