Roberts Express, Akron, OH, has increased the minimum charges for shipments handled by its Express Division. The new minimum charges are said to more accurately reflect the real cost of providing shorthaul service and are expected to result in better customer service and enhanced satisfaction among Roberts contractors.
The change impacts less than seven percent of shipments transported by the division. Roberts has not increased its general tariff mileage rates or its mileage-based rates and accessorial charges in five years.
