The Owner Operator Independent Drivers Assn. has awarded the second four scholarships of its scholarship program.

OOIDA scholarships are available for children, grandchildren, and legal dependents of OOIDA members. This year, applicants for the 1999-2000 school year scholarship wrote a 500-word essay titled, "Highway Safety Tip Designed to Save Truckers' and Car Drivers' Lives." Two scholarships were for $1,000, and two were for $500. Each is renewable for up to four years.
The winners are:
· Brantley J. Berry, son of Donald J. Berry of Centerville, IN.
· Randi Jean Exendine, daughter of Mark Wynn Exendine of Tulsa, OK.
· Sheryl Doerksen, daughter of Dan Doerksen of Reedley, CA.
· Lisa Nicole Ledgister, daughter of Bolvin Ledgister of Peachtree City, GA.
Tax-deductible donations to the OOIDA Scholarship Program can be sent to the OOIDA Foundation Inc., 311 R.D. Mize Rd., Grain Valley, MO 64019.
