Arkansas-based J.B. Hunt Transport Services plans to open a terminal in Phoenix, AZ, to be completed by the first quarter of 2000.

The 14-acre, 16,000-square-foot facility will be equipped with driver conveniences such as showers, break room, phones, vending machines, laundry facilities and fuel. It also will contain a full service maintenance facility, with seven bays to accommodate both tractor and trailer repairs.

The new facility will allow for a broader base of over-the-road drivers to be domiciled, provide greater flexibility customers in the region, and complement the existing intermodal ramp operation and its base of dedicated drivers, according to the company.
