The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a public hearing next week on the fatal truck-train accident that happened in March in Bourbonnais, IL.

On March 15, the Amtrak train City of New Orleans struck a tractor-trailer loaded with steel at a grade crossing near Bourbonnais. Eleven passengers were killed and more than 100 were injured.
The three-day hearing, Sept. 13-15, will be held in Chicago at the Ambassador West Hotel. The fact-gathering session is designed to clarify accident information and to air, in a public forum, significant new issues. The NTSB will gather information to help it determine a probably cause and recommendations, if necessary, to enhance grade crossing safety.
