Fleet Maintenance Fundamentals is the theme of the fall meeting of The Maintenance Council, Oct. 11-14, at the Hyatt Regency Tampa in Tampa, FL.

Technical sessions during the three and a-half day meeting will include Total Vehicle Alignment; Electrical Training and Diagnostics, Part II; Rear Impact Guard Maintenance and Repair Guidelines; Power Management Strategies; Wheel Torque Guidelines; Winterization; Do's, Don'ts and Lessons Learned in Cab Design; Successful Career Road Maps for Maintenance Management; Maintenance Guidelines for Hydraulically Activated Clutches; Anticipated Regulations for Load Securement; Vehicle Electronics Training Issues; and Brake Rotor Maintenance and Specification for LMVs.
In addition, more than 70 task force meetings will be held during the week to develop Recommended Practices that fleets can adopt in their daily operations.
In conjunction with the fall meeting, TMC is offering a one-day special VMRS workshop Friday, Oct. 15, from 8:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. The workshop is dedicated to understanding and explaining the latest version of the Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standard - VMRS 2000. The session will explain how fleets and suppliers can integrate this reporting standard into data management systems.
