An anonymous trucker helped the pilot of a small plane make an emergency landing on the Golden State Freeway Saturday morning.

Pilot Thomas Teilhet was circling the freeway and in obvious trouble. His Cessna 150 was losing power and altitude, possibly due to a cracked engine cylinder. A truck driver turned his tractor-trailer around and blocked two lanes of busy traffic, allowing Teilhet to safely land, reports the LA Times.
Before touching down, the pilot circled the trucker. His anonymous helper waved at him before turning the truck back around and heading on his way.
Teilhet was not injured and the plane was not damaged, but the landing in the northbound lanes backed up traffic for hours.
