Cargo Transporters of Claremont, NC, has ordered 100 EVT-300 Collision Warning Systems from Eaton Vorad Technologies. The systems will be installed at the factory as part of an order for 100 new Freightliner Trucks.
"After trying the earlier EVT-200 systems, we became convinced that collision warning systems provide an indisputable enhancement to safety," said John Pope, vice president of the 240-vehicle fleet. "We've received feedback from several drivers who avoided accidents because of the systems, especially while driving in rain and fog."
Eaton Vorad EVT-300 Collision Warning Systems feature a new monopulse radar design that produces a wider beam pattern than earlier designs and allows for broader, more accurate road coverage. Enhanced side sensors also have been added to the EVT-300 systems.
