Truck Centers Inc., based in Troy, IL, is building and expanding dealerships in Missouri and Illinois that are expected to generate at least $80 million in new revenue and create more than 150 jobs, reports the St. Louis Business Journal.
Truck Centers, an exclusive Freightliner dealer, bought 85 acres in Foristell, MO, where it is building a SelecTrucks used-truck sales center in its first joint venture with Freightliner Corp. In a separate venture, Truck Centers is also building a dealership for new trucks on the Foristell site, expected to be completed in 2000. Total investment for the Foristell project is expected to be around $20 million.
In addition to the Foristell project, Truck Centers is expanding its Troy dealership. The 200,000-square-foot dealership will include a technician training center and is expected to be finished by November.
Other projects planned include expansions in Morton and Effingham, IL. The company also plans to acquire Duckett Freightliner, which has two locations in Missouri and one in Kentucky.
