The Virginia Department of Transportation has unveiled a web site to keep highway users updated on progress on the huge construction project on the I-95 interchange near Springfield, VA, known as the “mixing bowl.”

The site, at, will offer daily progress updates. VDOT will update the page each day to inform the public which lanes will be closed and when. If there is a major construction delay or accident blocking traffic, it will be described here, as well.
There also are before-and-after views of the project; background on the project; a description of each phase and its schedule; construction zone safety tips; and a form to contact the VDOT.
Phase III of the project begins this month.
