Dec. 28 – A Kentucky man turned himself in to a truckstop chaplain last Tuesday, confessing to a carjacking.
The Akron Beacon Journal reported that Mark Ladelphia told officers he stole the car in Louisville earlier this week, threatening the young male driver with a pellet handgun. He then drove north on Interstate 71. By the time he reached Medina County, about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Ladelphia was remorseful and pulled into the Travelcenters of America in Lodi.
He said he intended to call the State Highway Patrol and turn himself in. But when he saw that the truckstop had a chaplain's trailer, he went there instead and asked the minister, Don Kessler, to call authorities.
