Nov. 25 – United Auto Workers officials announced yesterday that a tentative agreement has been reached between UAW Local 1832 and Peterbilt Trucks after extensive negotiations in the Nashville, TN, area.

The union rejected Peterbilt proposals on May 3 and went on strike. They also rejected another offer on July 5. On September 10 they made an unconditional offer to return to work while continuing to negotiate, which Peterbilt refused.
“This has been an extremely difficult set of negotiations,” said Jack Laskowski, director of the union’s Heavy trucks Department. “This tentative agreement addresses the needs and concerns of our members and their families.”
