Peterbilt’s 58-inch sleeper option for short- and regional-haul applications is now available through the company’s dealer network.

The option is available for Peterbilt’s Model 579 and vocational Model 567 and reduces weight by 100 pounds compared to an 80-inch sleeper version. The 58-inch sleeper is available in both low- and mid-roof configurations.

“Peterbilt’s new 58-inch sleeper is a perfect fit for customers in applications where a shorter wheelbase and less weight are important, such as tanker and flatbed operations,” said Robert Woodall, Peterbilt assistant general manager of sales and marketing.

The sleeper includes a full-length door for improved loading of personal gear and belongings. It also features full-length integrated extenders for minimizing the trailer gap and improving aerodynamic efficiency.

The option also features a television mount, refrigerator, microwave shelf and full-length mattress. The 58-inch sleeper is set to go into production in the fourth quarter.
